The Lebanese Communist Party: The ceasefire is an achievement made possible by the blood of the martyrs and the national unity of the Lebanese against the Zionist enemy, its NATO sponsors, and its supporters.
1: The day of return constituted a day of victory for Lebanese national unity against the Zionist enemy, its NATO sponsors, and its supporters. It was a day to salute the heroic martyrs of the resistance who recorded the most glorious epics in defending Lebanon, as well as all martyrs—military personnel, journalists, medical workers, civil defense volunteers, and civilians—who were martyred along with their displaced brethren in various Lebanese regions. It is the day of all the Lebanese who made tremendous sacrifices in relief efforts and demonstrated popular resilience, embodied by their embrace of the displaced, reflecting the most remarkable example of national unity, which contributed to this heroic resilience and return. It is also a day to salute all communists for their efforts and sacrifices, as they gave all they had and rose to the level of responsibility in standing by their people and homeland. They remained faithful to their history of national resistance, and a thousand salutes to them and to the martyrs from their families.
2: The Lebanese Communist Party considers the ceasefire an important national achievement, realized through the blood and sacrifices that, under the prevailing balance of power, prevented the Zionist enemy from achieving its goal of subjugating Lebanon and its people. It is this heroic resilience that forced the enemy to halt its barbaric and destructive attacks and its psychological warfare against civilians—acts that constitute war crimes for which Netanyahu, Galant, their racist government, and the military leaders and soldiers who committed massacres against unarmed civilians in Beirut and throughout Lebanon must be prosecuted under the rulings of the International Criminal Court. These crimes resulted in thousands of martyrs and injured individuals and included the systematic destruction of border villages, the southern suburbs, the Bekaa, and historic heritage and archaeological sites, evoking the atrocities of colonial, imperialist, and Nazi wars throughout history.
Regarding the "Israeli-Lebanese" agreement, its political interpretation is not confined to its text, which serves as an introduction and cover for what will be implemented on the ground. Lebanon and Palestine have lessons and experiences regarding the implementation of agreements in this regard. The text of the agreement surpasses Resolution 1701 through the amendments and additions made to it, especially the provisions imposed on Lebanon concerning monitoring and implementation mechanisms. These portray Lebanon as the aggressor against "Israel" and thereby absolve the Zionist enemy of all the crimes it committed against Lebanon and its people. This was first evident in the formation of the "monitoring and implementation" committee chaired by the United States, which is biased toward and supportive of the enemy.
Accordingly, the Party reaffirms its categorical rejection of any conditions or concessions at the expense of Lebanon’s sovereignty and national rights by land, sea, and air. It insists on the full Israeli withdrawal and denies "Israel" any right to conduct "preemptive military actions," adhering to the necessity of Israel’s withdrawal to the international borders per the 1949 Armistice Agreement. It also emphasizes the critical role of the Lebanese Army in safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and defending its people against any potential Zionist aggression, especially after Netanyahu declared that "the agreement is not the end of the war."
3: The political and security situation in Lebanon remains fraught with dangers, as the Zionist enemy cannot be trusted. Despite the agreement, it continues to commit various forms of crimes and attacks against those returning to the south. These include attempts at murder, intimidation, kidnapping, and preventing them from entering their villages, as well as the continued demolition of homes, drone operations, violations of Lebanese airspace, and the bombing of Bayssariyeh yesterday. These actions aim to continue the psychological warfare and promote the illusion that the return is conditional upon the occupation’s will rather than the result of Lebanese resilience during the most difficult circumstances.
4: These violations would not have been possible without the United States providing cover and chairing the "monitoring committee." Its silence reveals the truth about the U.S.-Israeli agreement and the "guarantees" it gave the Zionist enemy, allowing it to commit whatever it wishes under flimsy pretexts—whether due to alleged imminent or evolving threats or under the guise of self-defense. The United States bears responsibility for any future Zionist attacks justified by these "guarantees," which we denounce and reject entirely.
5: The Party emphasizes the importance of a unified national political discourse and prioritizing it over sectarian rhetoric from any source, which, unfortunately, surfaced during the battle. This occurred at a time when we desperately needed to enhance national unity against aggression, not to repeat the divisions that we continue to pay for in the horrific collapse threatening the country’s existence. Strengthening national unity, as demonstrated in embracing the displaced, must continue and intensify during the return phase, given the threats the returnees face from the Zionists and the dire conditions experienced by the displaced. Returnees and displaced persons, along with the majority of Lebanese, are confronting enormous social, housing, health, educational, and living challenges. These issues must take precedence for the government to stabilize the return, ensuring it includes all border villages. Reconstruction efforts must commence immediately, and compensation must be provided fairly and without discrimination to all those affected by the aggression.
6: The Party calls for practical measures to establish the foundations of a transitional phase to build a national state—a state of citizenship, democracy, and social justice; a state of resistance that protects its people through its national army and their right to resist occupation and Zionist aggression as a national duty. This state must provide all political, economic, and social necessities to its people. Foremost among these is building a military strategy centered on equipping the Lebanese Army with the latest weaponry from diverse sources, allocating state resources for this purpose as other nations do, and rejecting claims of insufficient capabilities as a pretext to continue reliance on and subordination to external powers. In this regard, the Party opposes the U.S. and French oversight of military armament stipulated in the agreement, viewing it as an aspect of dominance over Lebanon’s political decisions.
7: The Party calls for the broadest campaign of Arab and international political and popular solidarity with Lebanon and for exposing the Zionist enemy’s crimes against the Lebanese people, which it continues to commit against the Palestinian people. It urges governments worldwide to condemn aggression and genocide and demand the International Criminal Court enforce its rulings to arrest and prosecute Netanyahu, Galant, and all those involved in implementing racist policies supported by the United States.
